Banging a drum for change?

Personally I’m a bit of a Royalist. I do enjoy a bit of flag waving. So when I saw that the D of C had visited Anna Freud Centre Family School a Mental Health unit for children, I thought ‘Bless you ma’am’.

I know a lot is for the cameras but I do feel she has a genuine and earnest interest in us common folk. It warms me see high profile members of our society give time and respect to the mental health of our youth.

In Britain only six per cent of the national mental health budget is spent on ch‎ildren, even though 75 per cent of problems in adults start in childhood.

Ridiculous.

We all can see how great mental health in our children can be the springboard for success. Similarly, poor mental health and emotional well-being can cause a whole myriad of problems, bad choices and decisions that can effect the course of a young person’s life.

So like her or loathe her, the D of C has done a wealth of good today by bringing to the fore a very serious issue.
